Matt Maher Earns #1s on Five Separate Airplay Charts With First Independent Release ‘Gonna Be Alright’

NASHVILLE, Tenn.
Multi-GRAMMY® nominated singer-songwriter Matt Maher completed a five-chart Christian radio No. 1 sweep today, Oct. 2, 2026, with “Gonna Be Alright,” his first release as an independent artist on his own new label, Punt Records. The song reached the top of its fifth chart nearly five months after its May 8, 2026, radio impact date. Its No. 1 positions came at different points during that run, rather than simultaneously, across Mediabase Christian Impressions, Mediabase Christian AC Published, Mediabase AC Activator, Billboard AC and Billboard Christian Airplay.

The milestone puts Maher among the few independent artists ever to take a song to No. 1 on five Christian radio charts. For Maher, the sweep marks his first step out on his own imprint.

Written by Maher alongside artists and songwriters Simon Dumas and Cecily Hennigan, and produced by songwriter and producer Jeff Pardo, “Gonna Be Alright” centers on perseverance and faith, offering a message for seasons of gratitude, uncertainty and grief. The song marks the start of Maher’s work through Punt Records as an independent venture, in partnership with SESAC Music Group via distributor Audio Salad and label administrator Music Services Incorporated.

The bilingual “Gonna Be Alright (Todo Estará Bien),” and the Spanish version, “Todo Estará Bien,” are now available with co-writer Simon Dumas. Stream bilingual version, HERE.

“I’m finding that the song can be sung in praise and gratitude, and also in times of sorrow where a bit of joyful resistance is needed,” says Maher. “Life has a tendency to feel rather unexpected these days and hope doesn’t disappoint or disappear within it. ‘Don’t be afraid’ is the most used phrase in the Bible for a reason.”

“You hear a song once and you just know. Matt Maher delivered a message people are clearly hungry for, and five #1’s in two weeks proves it. We believed in this song from day one,” offers Troy West, network programming director, K-LOVE Radio.

A byproduct of the back to back No. 1s is the song’s availability to fans. To date, more than 29 Million people have heard this song across radio, digital consumption and at live concerts.

Maher plays the Paul Paul Theater at The Big Fresno Fair in Fresno, California on October 13th then joins Cathedrals Partner, Sarah Kroger, in Catholic Cathedrals and Parishes around the country highlighting their support for sponsor Unbound Ministries. The tour spans from Los Angeles; Phoenix; Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Houston, plus dates in Kansas, Missouri and Louisiana, before ending Oct. 30, 2026, in Roswell, Georgia.

On Nov. 29, 2026, Thanksgiving weekend, he joins actor Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus in “The Chosen,” for “An Advent Evening with Matt Maher and Jonathan Roumie” at Carnegie Hall in New York. From Dec. 2 to Dec. 11, 2026, he rejoins Sarah Kroger on the Cathedrals Tour playing Advent dates in Grand Rapids and Detroit, Michigan; Inverness, Illinois; Akron, Ohio; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania including the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul; and Boston, Massachusetts’s Cathedral of The Holy Cross.
