Franni Cash Releases New Song ‘Darken The Doorway’ From Upcoming Album

Today, performer, vocalist, and songwriter Franni Cash has a new song, “Darken the Doorway,” from her long-awaited debut solo album, out September 18th. Inspired by classic rock, “Darken the Doorway” challenges the notion that faith can only be practiced in houses of worship. Written with Paul Duncan, Jonathan Smith, and Franni’s father, Ed Cash, the song features picked acoustic guitar and a thick bassline, supporting Franni’s vocal strength and adding depth. “Darken the Doorway” follows the release of “Church Clothes,” “Raised By Wolves,” “Jesus All Along,” and “Menace” which have received over 5 million streams to date. Listen to “Darken the Doorway” and watch the official music video below.

“I needed to write this song for myself while walking through church hurt and wondering if God could still reach me even though I was anxious about returning to organized religion,” shares Franni. “The line “If you’re scared to darken the doorway, God can find you anywhere” became true for me when I started to develop a real relationship with my faith and began healing. For anyone who has been through similar things and needs to know, you don’t have to play the part of a good parishioner and show up every week to have that connection. Faith will meet you right where you are, all you have to do is come as you are.”

On September 18th, Franni will release her long-awaited debut solo album Here I Am. Following her departure from We The Kingdom, Franni has rediscovered herself to make her kind of music. The resulting thirteen songs on Here I Am reveal her journey with all the bumps and bruises she’s experienced along the way including escaping from a religious cult, reconciling her faith, and coming out with confidence to move on from the past. Here I Am is available for pre-order HERE.

Franni Cash is a 2x Grammy-nominated artist, 3x Dove Award winner, performer, vocalist and songwriter. Formerly of the band We The Kingdom, she co-wrote two No.1 songs and was named one of the Top 20 breakout artists across all genres. Her authentic, honest and whimsical songwriting and gift for the stage, is what connects Franni to her fans. Her debut solo album, Here I Am, will be released September 18th.
